Dr. B has recently put out a YouTube video discussing the drugs to treat opioid-use disorder. He does not mention Kratom once!
Even though he met with Mac Haddow, Senior Fellow on Public Policy for the American Kratom Association a few weeks ago, and listened to scientific evidence supporting the benefits of Kratom, he CHOOSES to not even recognize this plant ..as having any beneficial purpose.
Kratom is excellent in helping chronic pain, anxiety, depression, PTSD, fatigue, and opioid-use disorder in my opinion. BECAUSE, I AM living proof! Because of Kratom, I no longer take Morphine, Xanax, or Norco for chronic pain. Whether you have a disorder, an addiction to heroin, mental issues, or chronic pain to deal with, Kratom can help along with self growth and personal work.
He is promoting methadone, suboxone, and vivitrol. Methadone is a full opioid agonist which is highly addicting and can cause respiratory depression. Suboxone causes horrible side effects such as nodding off, while engaging in activities. There are even people commenting, saying they disagree with him and that vivitrol caused them hallucinations.
What is sad is that even though he has been informed by Mac Haddow about the wonderful benefits and facts about Kratom, he has consciously CHOSEN to dismiss and disregard them.
This is exactly why so many people are either in the dark or brainwashed into thinking Kratom is no good. It’s because of power hungry, selfish, greedy-for-attention persons within the media. I am very disappointed. I really thought I liked him and that maybe he was on our side somewhat, but not anymore. He is doing a disservice to his entire audience. He has a VERY LARGE following and he holds a lot of weight and power. I’ve lost all respect for you, Dr. B.
If he really cared about his patients and was speaking the truth about how he tends to get into trouble for siding with truth over politics, then he would be recognizing this plant. He full well knows the benefits and the help that this plant could give to his followers, yet he chooses to keep all of you in the dark. Some addiction specialist you are.

Oh man, do I ever agree with this centiment. I didn’t much like the idea of him when I heard about him, really disliked and distrusted him when I heard his arrogant words, and I’m with you. Disregard him. He’s like most other doctors, knowing they’re wrong or at least bias, but refusing to recognize it because they think they know more than we do, having gone to medical school. It’s arrogance, pure and simple. And he will harm others with it

Why in hell would you use that for opioid addiction, that would just precipitate withdrawal, not end it. Usual doctor arrogance, mine tried the same with me, and had I not already found kratom, I might have fallen for it

oops, typo on that second comment, I meant only to add that last sentence about vivitrol. I’ll dislike and comment on his video also, although I don’t expect to be taken seriously, such is the life of a kratom advocate. Anyone who says they are an addiction specialist, something I’m not even sure exists except in the mind of such people, and then deliberately chooses not to at least acknowledge kratom’s beneficial effects is no addiction specialist. Rather, he is just another doctor, who can’t stand not to be the center of attention, not only to his patients, but to his audience.
