To go through what she did ~ something so unimaginably traumatic and HORRIFIC.. and come out on the other end, as a sane, happy, normal-functioning person; is nothing short of phenomenal and miraculous!!! ‘My name is Cathy. I am a grateful recovering alcoholic/addict. I spent 13 years out there getting drunk and smoking crack. In 2002, I was walking to the store and a van pulls up and I was kidnapped. For 3 days I was sexually assaulted and beaten… and on the 3rd day I was stabbed many times and shot 2 times, in the hip and in the head. They threw me out of that van onto a sidewalk, thinking I was dead.’
‘Afterwards, I had to spend 61 days in the hospital. When I got out, I drank and smoked harder than before. Five months after this happened, I found out I was pregnant by one of the six monsters that took me against my will. I had the baby and gave her up for adoption. I drank even harder and smoked like a fiend!! I got sober and clean from 2008-2018, relapsed for 2 & a half months, and got clean and sober. Beginning February 2, 2019 …I’ve been clean and sober ever since. I have MS and pernicious anemia. Eighteen months ago, I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease.’
