‘Hello, I am a 36 year old mother of 4 from Illinois… and a recovering addict. My childhood was extremely hard and led to heavy drug use at a very early age. By the age of 28 I had been using hard drugs for 15 years and wanted a new way of life. I fought hard to get clean but never could do it. It led to legal troubles and rehab. While rehab worked for me, it didn’t stop the consequences that had to be paid. So in 2013 I went to prison. I was 12 weeks pregnant when I was booked in. 2 days later I miscarried. I did my time, taking every lifestyle redirection class, and academic class I could. And when released, slowly started to rebuild my life. My life of drug abuse was finally behind me. But after having 2 more children and multiple surgeries, I found myself once again addicted to pain medication. At my breaking point I found Kratom in March of 2018. It truly saved my life. I have been completely off of any mind altering substances for more than 2 years now and my children finally have the mother they always deserved, thanks to this amazing plant.
